Volunteers Training Program – May 8 to 10
Volunteers Training Program – May 8 to 10
Quest Center – Hop Bottom,PA
Most of you may have considered at one time or another to volunteer your time for helping somebody in distress. It is a natural instinct to help others but sometimes umprepared help may cause more harm then benefit. Particularly when there are emergency situations involving complicated scenarios, the degree of self-control and competency plays a major role in the resolution of the problem.
Some major organizations such as the American Red Cross has been a leader with health & safety training and they have developed very good teaching materials and methodologies. In this volunteers training we wish to provide different skill that we consider very valuable in condition of emergency:
o First Aid – American Red Cross certification
o CPR Adult – American Red Cross certification
o Stress management techniques
o Social abilities and convivial relationships
o Yoga and diet basics for health and self-control
The course is designed for a full immersion weekend. Those who live near the Quest Center may opt to go home at night and come back in the morning although we encourage that the whole group remain together for experiencing the bond and the force of cohesion that is necessary when you are in a real emergency involving lots of people without the usual support of your own home.
The training starts Friday at 6 pm and ends Sunday at 3 pm
The American Red Cross certification courses will be given as follows:
CPR Adult – Saturday morning from 9 to 12 noon
First Aid – Sunday morning from 9 to 12 noon
Other classes will be imparted with the following schedule:
