University of Malta’s Information and Communication Technology PhD student Jason Debono (39) feels healthier and relaxed by practicing yoga.

“I enjoy myself in the weekly session of yoga,” Debono said. “It makes me feel better, more relaxed and healthier.”

Debono teaches Electronics at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. He practices meditation every morning at his home that helps him with his study and teaching job.

“When I was about 14 years old I tried some postures with a friend of mine,” Debono said. He had a book about yoga and we read some of it.”

According to the website of yogameditationmalta.org, Ananda Marga Yoga Center offers yoga and meditation classes. Debono said he attends the weekly yoga meditation classes at the center.

“I think that meditation helps to keep me calm and to control my instincts,” Debone said. “It helps me to be more focused.”

Debono feels happy helping others. He participates in service activities.

“I think that yoga and meditation are the best things that I can do for my body and mind,” Deboneo said. “It helps me a lot.”

Debono said he encourages his students, colleagues and friends to learn and practice yoga.

Cynthia Grixti said she attended beginners, intermediate and advance yoga meditation classes with Debono one year ago at the Ananda Marga Yoga Center that helped her. Grixti said she would join the classes in December.

“I want to continue improving myself,” Debono said. “My goal is to be good and happy.”
