Introduction to Cakras
For spiritual advancement spiritual practices are a must, and in spiritual practices the role of the cakras [plexi] is immense. Cakra is a Sanskrit term while plexus is a Latin term.
Cakra Definition: Cycle or circle; psychospiritual centre, or plexus. Cakra is a Sanskrit word also described as a wheel or disc/sphere and refers to a spinning sphere of bioenergetic activity emanating from the major nerve ganglia branching forward from the spinal column/human nervous system. Cakras are considered to be a point or nexus of energy or pranah (vital energy) of the human body. The cakras in the human body are all located along the sus´umna´ canal and/or psycho-spiritual channels which pass through the length of the spinal column and extend up to the crown of the head. Cakras are a collection of glands and sub-glands, situated at the intersecting points of the psycho-spiritual channels along the spinal column.
