Ananda Marga is a Socio Spiritual Organization, PR Department have a great duty to propagate the comprehensive Philosophy through Public Program, electronic media, print media, symposium, seminar and Renaissance Universal/RAWA (Renaissance Artists & Writers Association), service program like Natural Calamities, flood and other Relief Activities.
During this half year, PR Department did an efficient public programs in different places of the sector received the appreciation from Higher Government Officials and incredible public opinion of our service activities.
RANCHI REGION:
Second phase Diocese and Dit. level seminar program was held in RANCHI Region.
Bhopal DS organized symposium on the occasion of Prabhata Samgiita Divas held on 14 September 2008, where Dr. Urmila Sirish, an eminent writer from Bhopal was Chief Guest.
First Diocese seminars of Raipur and Bilaspur were held in June 20, 21st and 22nd, where 137 Sadhakas and Sadhikas attended. Press conference was organized during this seminar and Bhukti committees of Raipur, Durg, and Balaghat were constituted. Electronic media and newspaper highlighted this news.
In Sehore, on the occasion of First Diocese Seminar, Procession was organized on 5th July under the special security of Police and local administration. This news was printed and circulated widely by electronic media. Narayana Seva was held where 350 people were benefitted.

Ranchi Region of Bihar circle high-quality relief work in Saharsa Diocese, Bhagalpur Diocese. For the outstanding work of AMURT in Bhagalpur, Naogachia, Purnea, Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Katihar, the District collector conferred appreciation letter. Many other Government officers and local MPs MLA’s admired our relief activities appreciating our service actions in local newspaper like Hindustan, Aaj, Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Local TV channels telecasted live our news.
Three days Teachers Training Camp was organized on 19,20, and 21st September at Ananda Marga Middle School, Bhopal. Ac Shantatatmananda was Chief Trainer. Ac Rudrananda Avt also addressed the participants.
Kaoshikii Divas was celebrated on 6th September. Kaoshikii competition was also conducted.
In Purnea junction, Clothes were distributed among 900 people. At least 500 people have been regularly fed nearly a month.
In Guna Dit. 75 people attended the seminar. On this occasion, Narayan seva was held benefitting 1500 people.
A first Dio. seminar was held in Sagar Diocese on 27, 28 and 29th June, where 152 people attended and this news was widely covered by the newspaper media.
Purnea Prabhat Colony nearly 146 people were given shelter at Ananda Marga Ashram. They were regularly provided with all facility for survival. Medical camp was organized where 250 people got benefitted.
In Banbanka, a medical camp and Tridan activity was organized under the supervision of Ac Navatithananda Act CS (D), where nearly 300 people got benefitted.
A medical camp was organized under the supervision of Dr Ramesh the Ex Civil Surgeon who provided medical check up benefitting 1200 people.
Flood Relief work was done in Bhagalpur diocese for 27days. Mass feeding was done in different places benefitting 100,000 people. Clothes distribution was also done to 2000 people. Medical camp was organized in most affected areas benefitting 8000 people. Phenyl, Bleaching powder matchboxes, candles were also distributed to the flood victims. Altogether Rs 1, 26,420/- was spent in this relief work. Newspaper published the relief activities done by AMURT.

In Darbhanga Dio, Teachers and students of AM School Laherasarai went for street collection collecting funds of Rs 4000/- for flood victims in North Bihar.
DS Darbhanga Ac Rajshekharananda Avt is coordinating in the construction of Children Home at Laheriasarai. Its estimated cost is 7 lakhs rupees and already 2 lakhs have been invested.
DS Sagar Ac Sarvagananda Avt is effectively supervising by investing 4.5 lakh for building work.

KOLKATA REGION: –
Tatanagar Diocese: – AMURT/el Team of Tatanagar collected enormous relief materials and sent them for the marooned people of North Bihar were more than 10,000 people benefitted. Rice was 45 quintals, 5 quintals of Chuda’ and Big packet of soap. Medicines worth of Rs 45,000/-. 1200 Comfortable bed were sent. Old clothes – 20 bags and cash Rs 13,000/- was collected.
Sahebganj: – Ac Muktishvarananda Avt Dit.S, Sahebganj collected medicines worth of Rs 2500/-, 6 bags of clothes, 2 cartoons biscuits etc and distributed among the flood victims of Naugachia district of Bihar.
3 Narayana Seva at Sahebganj benefitting 450 people.
2 Medical camps at Chhoti Pachagarh benefitting 46 and 58 people respectively.
Tatanagar Main Newspaper and Local Television media highlighted our service activities.
Lion Club of Tatanagar donated 1 truck of rice grains, mattress and other materials has donation including medicine and clothes worth one lakh rupees.
Bhuvaneshvar Diocese
Ac Gopanmohan Brc, Ac Guniindrananda Avt – DS Baripada and AMURT volunteers did an outstanding relief work in Orissa from 2nd September to 6th October 2008. Newspaper Samaj Sambad and “Dheritra” displayed our relief activities widely and telecasted this news in NDTV and ETV.
The District Collector of Bhuvaneshvar gave appreciation letter and government officials cooperated for smooth rendering of our service projects.
18 Free kitchens were started for 7 days feeding 3 thousand people every day in 56 different villages of Kendrapada, Cuttack and Puri districts.
Free medical camps were conducted for nearly 10 days in nearly 86 villages of these 3 districts distributing free medicines.
MURI Diocese:
Ac Bhavananda Avt DS Muri collected food materials with 50 bags of rice, 86 bags of chuda’, 2 cartoons of biscuits and 217 bags of clothes, 6 bags of gur etc from Bokaro. Medicines worth about 50,000 rupees were also collected for Bihar Relief work. Bokaro Newspaper published our relief activities widely.
In Dhanbad, Rs 6000/- cash and 6 bags of clothes were sent to Bihar Flood victims.
Diocese & Dit. level seminars were successfully conducted and as a part of seminar, Symposium, Cultural program based on Prabhata Samgiita was telecasted live in Television and Local Newspaper highlighted very effectively our news. RS Kolkata Ac Navrunananda Avt supervised this program with local WT’s and margiis to make successful.
ALLAHABAD REGION:
Meerut Diocese: On the occasion of Prabhata Samgiita Divas a cultural program was organized at Haridwar Ananda Marga School situated at Ravale Mehdood in Meerut Dio on 18 Sept, 08. In this program, 150 attended including Guest, Guardians and children. There was Theatre performance and Drama based on Prabhata Samgiita Songs.
Meerut Diocese: 1st Diocese level Seminar of Uttarkashi Nainital, Barelly and Meerut Diocese was held on 11st, 12th and 13th July 2008.
Kanpur Diocese: 1st Diocese Level Seminar, Kanpur was held on 27th, 28th & 29th June at Kanpur.
Jhansi Diocese:
Narayana Seva was organized were more than hundreds of people were benefitted. In Nayvadaya Vidyalaya at Jhansi, Principal learnt meditation and student learnt Asana, Kaoshiki and Tandava.
Gorakhapur Diocese:
Two Medical camps were held in Gorakhapur Dio. on 5th Oct Medical camp held at Basti district 180 patients were benefitted.
In Gorakhpur Dio. at Khalilabad unit organized seminar program, this Seminar News was highlighted in local TV channel. Ac Shranananda Avt, Ac Sanjeevananda Avt and Ac Dayashekharananda (Sect PR Secy Delhi Sector) gave 1-hour interview, which was broadcasted live.

CHANDIGARH REGION:
Ac Mukesh Brc DS Kathua distributed fruits to 500 patients in the local hospital and this service was broadcasted in local TV and newspaper.
Seminar Program was organized in Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Delhi. Symposium and public program were conducted and the news was highlighted in 3 Newspaper.
Delhi Diocese organized Golden Jubilee RU/RAWA event and it was a grand success. This news was published in the local Newspaper.
JAIPUR REGION:
In Ananda Marga Ashram, day care centre for Old was inaugurated. The Chief Guest Mr. Girilal Bhargava inaugurated the program. Nearly 200 people attended and the day care was opened with seven men.
Second Phase, 1st Diocese Seminar of Ahmadabad circle was held at Himmatnagar, Gujarat. Three meetings, Narayana Seva and Nagar Kiirtan were conducted.
On 11, 12, 13th July, a Seminar was held at Kota. On this occasion, a baby naming ceremony was organized according to caryacarya. Ac Sharanananda Avt was trainer and local unit and people who participated were very much inspired and appreciated the program.
In Ahmedabad Dio, Prabhata Samgiita competition was organized and prizes were distributed.
Reconstruction work was done at the cost of 11,000 rupees at Rajkot.
In Kota, different activities of Ananda Marga were exhibited at Public Dussehara fair. Yoga Camp, Publication and teaching meditation was organized. 50 people got initiation during this event.
BANGALORE REGION:
Various relief related activities were organized which benefited 11 hundred patients.
Eminent RAWA artist based on Prabhata Samgiita, which was attended by 450 people, organized RAWA program at Indian Institute of World Culture.
MUMBAI Region:
A school building is constructed at Talegaow in Amravati Diocese, the expenses of the building is more Eight hundred thousand. The school was inaugurated on 26 January 2008, where many prominent leaders like MLA, MP of that area were present.
KT REGION:
AMURT Team distributed food packets worth Rs 13,000/- and 10 bags clothes to 1000 flood victims in Koshi Barrage tragedy.
AMURT store at Kathmandu collected Rs 16,000/- and 17 bags clothes ready to be sent to flood areas.
AMSAI Hetanda has kept Rs 100000/- in Savings and Rs 100000/- in Fixed deposit in YETI FINANCE Ltd.
ACU-YOGA medical camp was held at Hetanda and Malangwa treated 40 patients.
Public meetings and Tattvasabhas were successfully and interviews was given local radio channel at Dhulikhel was given by Ac Dayashikharananda Avt RS KT.

Nairobi Sector Good News Highlights
Construction of Children’s home worth 60,000 $ was constructed with the help of donors completing the first and second floor.
AMURT has undertaken the tasks to build a handicap children’s home, a clinic and Jagriti in first phase. Estimated budget approximately cost 320,000$ for utilizing the land.
Primary school construction works is about to complete at Likony Mombasa. One Laboratory, testing machine have been collected and given to Mombasa clinic worth 1200$.
Kiambo School construction
The school construction of Kiambo, Nairobi has completed first floor, students and guardians are happy and students are increased to 50.
Free Medical Camp was organized in Nairobi and 400 patients were treated. Free dental camp was organized and 60 patients were treated.
The cancer research and primary health care project have been approved by the Italian hospital arranged by AMURT.
A school project in Rwanda funded by embassy of Japan is about to complete and we will start construction work of our own clinic by January 2009. Already we have secured 10,000$ and 50,000 promised by donors.

GT Sector Good News Highlights
A conference entitled Human Rights and Economic Democracy was held in Bueous Aries Argentina in a very famous Park where Brother Rainjan & Sarvajiit of Prout Institute of Venezuela gave two presentation which was telecasted live, a short video of PROUT ´s activities in local TV and newspaper.
Worth of 6000 dollars was spent for the Restoration of Jagriti building at Buenos Aires,Argentina was completed successfully.
75 kilos of clothing was distributed in Merlo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) via a partnership between Ananda Marga Unit and the local Christian community service project.
Ac Ganadevananda Avt had a TV interview at the Jagrti in Medellin Colombia for regular weekly lectures. The important Newspaper highlighted his pracar activities.
Medellin Diocese in Colombia, a Land of 900 square meters was donated to AM for building a “Cultural & community House” and the town administration will assist by donating 8000 dollars for construction purpose.
MU Ananda kiirtana, Brazil our Diary project has 25 cows which gives 160 litters of milk providing profit for our MU and our old school building was renovated with the donation worth of dollars 700.
George town in Guyana, a 3 days seminar was held where 60 people participated along with margiis from Surinam. A National Newspaper covered the seminar news and our Seminar program was shown live in TV for one hour.

GT Sector Good news Highlights WWD:
Avadhutika Ananda Muktivrata Acarya’ RS (L) has purchased 120 sqm is very close were we give free food for 25 poor children.
Avtk An Sushiila Ac’ RS (L) Sao Paulo did very good pracar oriented work giving lecture, sadhana shivir, 3 cooking classes. Didi was interviewed in Local Newspaper in Porto Alegre in August 2008.
Brc Sutanuka DS (L) Asuncion Diocese did TRIDAN work and Sadavrata near Capiata and Abasto School and also did pracar work.
In Oran, Didi An Tapasuddha Ac’ distributed clothes for 150 people in a village Indigena.
In Venezuela, Avtk An Megha Ac recevied a certificate of Registration from Venezuela Education Department after 5 years of struggle to get Registration for AM Preschool, at Caracas.

HK Sector Good News Highlights: –
Sectorial Conference
Sectorial Conference was held in Ananda Suruchi Master Unit, Taiwan from 9-12th October. More than 250 Margiis and children including acaryas were present.
From Central, Ac. Nirmohananda Avt and Avtk. Ananda Dyotana Ac inspired margiis in Conference giving classes and workshop. A cultural evening with RAWA artist presented. An Organizational meeting with margiis who had duties was also held.
WWD MU Ananda Matrika, in Taiwan is becoming a model MU with public attention attracting the local community towards this place and number of students has increased in the School. WWD in Taipei have several program and activities, one attraction was with the help of local Mayor, they organized open market for various purpose.
MU Ananda Suruci, Farm re-establishing and reorganizing the farm with recent developed technology and introducing herbal life growing organic plantation.
All the workers and departments and trade (AMPS, WWD, PROUT, SDM, SD) working in Taiwan, they are doing good pracar work, establishing Ananda Club and making sympthisizers giving many yoga and meditation session in their respective units.
AMURT/EL Taiwan has raised fund for Burma, China and North Bihar of India worth more than 60,000 dollars.
In Taipei DS has organized farmers association, RAWA club; Student Camp is organized by local margiis and acaryas. Exhibition of different herbs and plants organized by different NGO’s, where our PROUT margiis represented with few plants and got very good appreciation.
Mongolia
AMURT is actively serving poor people, distributing food, clothes and blankets to poor families. Our clinic is providing medical care to 100 people per month. ‘Food for Thought’ vegetarian philosophy book was recently published and printed in Mongolian by Dada Yogananda and is selling very well.

There are currently 118 children in Lotus Children’s’ Centre and 70 children in the primary school. A land blessing ceremony was held in July for the new children’s’ home. During the summer a fundraiser was raised $50,000 for the home.
Russia:
There were two main Regional conferences in Siberia and Far East and altogether 250 people attended. Before the conferences many seminars took place in Far East and Siberia. Many came in contact with Ananda Marga and two new units were started. One LFT was created.
Tashkent:
Dada Sudhakara organized seminars and philosophy classes and the unit is becoming healthy and number of margiis has been increased.
Dada covered new country Kirgistan capital city in Bishkek, he initiated several people and made sympthisizers creating moralist unit were several initiations were given.
Dada also visited Almaty which is the biggest city of Kazakhstan, and organized several seminars and established effective units.
Korea
Ananda Marga has organized several RAWA concerts in 4 cities of Korea. The Indian community and Ambassador are expressing appreciation for our concerts.
Dada Cittarainjanananda has obtained 2 hectares of land with a 10 years lease, which can be utilized for farming and developing as a spiritual community. Pracar in universities in Seoul and Pusan is going on.
Japan
With the help of Didi Ananda Arpana and Dada Vijiitatmananda a new flow has been created and seminars are regularly held in Kyoto. A seminar was held in Tokyo attended by 25 margiis.
Didi Ananda Arpana has brought a very good pracar flow in Okinawa, organizing a RAWA concert, table talks and a vegetarian dinner. About $2,000 was raised for AMURT/EL work in China and India. November we had a nice Retreat in Kansai (Kyoto). Margiis came from different places (Tokyo/Osaka/Fukuoka…). Total number on two days was 25 Margiis.
China:
After the earthquake in China, an AMURT/EL team (including Didi Ananda Suveda and Dada Sahajananda) distributed food, water, clothes and tents to hundreds of victims. Dada Sahajananda is still working in the affected area and working closely with local organizations. We bought a land to establish a farm. Ananda Marga foundation in Taiwan has taken full responsibility to support this work.

Berlin Sector Good News Highlight WWD:
Avtk’ A Dayashiila, Sunrise school is healthy infant school in Stockholm. Monthly Neo-Humanist training and teacher’s meetings are taking place.
A women’s day meditation/yoga program was held in Varberg, Stockholm Region attended by 9 people and 5 initiations were taught.
Avtk A Harimaya gave 44 initiations with 5 seminars, 11 open conferences in Roma Region of Berlin Sector.
Two Books have been published in Spanish and a PWSA Club has been formed in Desio Milano.
Avtk A Prama attended Sadhana Shivir, which was held in Madiera, Portugal. She is doing Pracar in local school attended by 30 people inspiring about MU. She along with margiis did pracar in mental hospital.
Avtk A Jyotishrii was interviewed by online newspaper of Teacher’s Training College, Eger.
She spoke at a public gathering of 60 people distributing leaflets.

Berlin Sector Good News Highlights
Moscow Region:
Ac Gopal Brc of RS Moscow did intensive pracar activities giving lectures and visited units in Belgorod fund raising for Romania Domensti Children Home.
Oslo Region:
Ac Kuinjaviharii Brc did Vegetarian cooking class and attended Animal right activity groups organized a street march with torch in the evening where AM Oslo Unit exhibited to enhance the spirit of Neo-Humanism and PCAP activity.
Ac Subuddhyananda gave intensive weekend shivir on 29th, 30th at Vinsnes, Oslo Region were 8 people attended. 80 euro was raised for AMURT Romania Children project.
Roma Region:
Ac Devavratananda Avt organized seminars in Roma region of Bolzano Bhukti, Calabria Bhukti, Bari Bhukti, Roma Bhukti and Bologna Bhukti.
IRSS was held in Ananda Vipasa in September with workers and margiis.
AMURT Parma did fund raising dinner attended by more than 300 people.
Stockholm Region:
Brother Shantatma attended big vegan festival, Vegfest in Tampere on September 10th, he participated in panel discussion promoting Yogic lifestyle and diet. There were over 100 people listening.
After intense reconstruction work of Stockholm rented Jagrti has been inaugurated with the participation of 32 margiis, and Ananda Marga Sweden web site has been renovated with the help of Ramanuja.
House warming ceremony at Ravi and Tara’s place was held, where 30 people attended.
AMURT Sweden has collected 500 $ for Haiti’s affected people by the hurricanes. We formed a new board of AMURT, with Asha as a Unit secretary in Stockholm.
There has been a very important conference/seminar organized in Stockholm by Vegan society of Sweden. RS Stockholm with other margiis participated.
Tapasvii and Gunatiita attended an Alternative life style festival in Varberg for health, self-introspection, and massage. LFT Tapasvii gave asana class for 25 people who attended.
6 hours Akhanda kiirtan in Torero was held on the occasion of Mahaprayan were 25 people participated.
Intensive Seminar in Stockholm jagrti was organized on 15th November were 9 people attended and 17 people attended in Finland on 20, 21st and 22nd Seminar and at Collective Neo Humanist studies Ydrefors another seminar was attended were 6 people came.
On 29th November 3800 Swedish kroners were collected organizing Vegetarian dinner and RAWA concert for Rumania’s children Domnesti project
On 3rd December consumers’ cooperative has started in Stockholm. The name is “Ekoop for alla” (Ecologic cooperative for everyone)
Amsterdam Region:
Ac Gatimayananda gave a University Lecture in Jyvaskula University, Finland end of August, where 12 people attended.
Sadhana Shivir was held in Belgium in Iskcon Radhadesh centre on 29 and 30 November, where 17 people attended from Amsterdam Region.

Cairo Sector Good News Highlights:
Brc Rasamayii Ac’ did pracar activities giving 2 lectures on Yoga & Meditation – 15 attended. She gave Weekly classes on Yoga & Meditation in Secondary School attended by 35 girls.
3 Courses was held at Jagriti, where 45 people attended.
Weekly Study Circle on Elementary Philosophy for senior margiis was organized.
Participation in Social Movement activity resulted in invitation to teach on People’s day at Green Youth Seminar.
Centre Tbexbix School has become healthy with 53 students. EU funding has been received to host 3 full time volunteers in this project.
Residential Weekend with 27 students, introducing Vegetarianism & healthy habits was conducted.
Newspaper coverage of the pracar led to another interview in Important Newspaper in Maltese paper.
TV interview on Neo Humanist Education and Spirit of volunteer how to do Service was telecasted.

Manila Sector Good News Highlights:
Ac Mitrabhudhyananda Avt did pracar activities giving one lecture, 9 tattva sabha with 2 baby naming ceremony.
Ac Caetanyananda Avt runs three schools in Medan, Indonesia with more than 3000 students.
Ac Ratnendrananda Avt gave lecture in university in Iloilo were 40 students attended.
Ac Atmacetananda Avt organized Vegetarian Dinner in Jagriti in Maamo. He raised about 10,000 pesos in order to support the school for tribal children in Batanga. The Government inspected Dada’s project, how he is helping the Iita tribal people. This is the first tribal welfare project in Manila Region.
September 20, Myanmar Charity Dinner in Penang attended by more than 1,000.
RM 15,000 were collected. A Member of Parliament attended the program and it was very much inspired by the Ananda Marga commitment to do social service.
On Nov 16 International Meat- less day to promote vegetarian food in Penang was attended by 4 thousand people. The Chief minister of Penang visited the venue and gave a very inspiring talk on benefit of Vegetarianism.
Ac Shankarsanananda Avt pracar activity in Sport council of Singapore included Ananda Marga as one of the two qualified yoga center for official counselling to the Sport authority.
AM Website is in their web which is very good for promotion of AM in Singapore
Raised Singapore dollar 13000 for Myanmar Relief Operation.
On the Department of Student Affairs counselling and guidance Service invited Dada Parivratananda Avt to give talk on holistic way of living in different part of UTAR Universities in KL and Selangor.

NY Sector Good News Highlights:
Diwali was celebrated at the Texas Stadium. We have setup a stall for book selling and signup. Response was enthusiastic. Dallas Jagriti also celebrated the Diwali festival.
Professor Ravi Batra recently talked to a Radio show in Texas regarding the current economic crisis. In recent times, his interviews and news articles were published in many leading newspapers and journals. He has also conducted lectures at various locations
Two new Yoga clubs were started – one at Arlington and another at Dallas
AMURT team has done a great job for the relief for Bihar flood victims.
Ac Shubhacetenananda Avt appeared on a radio talk show. He also has organized many vegetarian dinners at various University locations in Texas.
